F-Pace wins 2017 World Car of the Year

The Jaguar F-Pace is the 2017 World Car of the Year, writes Brian Byrne. It also won the World Car Design Car of the Year.

The awards were announced at the New York Auto Show. Other award winners were the Porsche Boxster Cayman as World Performance Car; the BMWi3 as World Urban Car; the Toyota Prius Prime as World Green Car; and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class as World Luxury Car.

The F-Pace is Jaguar’s best selling model. It beat the Audi Q5 and VW Tiguan finalists for the top prize, and won the Design award against the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Toyota’s C-HR.
